Surf Hair Care: Keep those Beachy Strands Healthy

We know the ocean makes the most beautiful natural beachy waves, but when you’re at the beach a lot, like most LoveSurf girls, you’re hair can definitely get damaged. The sun and salt can really do a number on your strands. Here’s a few tips to keep your hair healthy and split end-free at the beach: Pre-Sun Care Use a high SPF sunscreen on your scalp and strands to protect you from getting burnt.  Put coconut oil on the ends before you go in the water, this will protect them from splitting   Wet your hair before getting in the water to keep you hair from absorbing salt water Post-Sun Care If you can, rinse with fresh water as soon as you get out of the ocean. DIY Natural Skin Brightening Mask

As much as we love spending every Summer minute at the beach, salt, sun and sand can be rough on your skin. This brightening mask exfoliates and stimulates circulation in the face, resulting in a warm, rosy glow; an amazing beach beauty tip perfect for warm Summer nights. Here’s why it works: Unripe papaya contains natural alpha-hydroxy acids and high levels of papain, an enzyme that helps dissolve dead skin cells. Yogurt adds lactic acid (another alpha-hydroxy) and gives the mask a creamy texture, and honey helps skin retain moisture. When left on, the mask should tingle slightly; if you have sensitive skin or prefer a gentler exfoliation, use ripe papaya, which has less papain. Green-Papaya Brightening Mask ½ cup unripe papaya, diced1 teaspoon plain yogurt1 teaspoon honey Blend ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Apply to clean skin using fingers; leave on for 8 to 10 minutes. Rinse off using cool water and pat dry. Finish by applying a gentle moisturizer. That’s it! This DIY facial is a quick and easy way to get amazing skin. x LoveSurf DIY Natural Skin-Brightening Mask was originally published on LOVESURF BLOG Share this with a friend:
